Who we are and what we do...

The Commonage Pottery & Gallery is part of the Happs Wines venue, just a 10-minute drive up the hill from the seaside town of Dunsborough in southwest WA.

It started out as the "Happs Pottery" back in 1978 when Erl and Ros Happ decided to spend more time creating and selling to the public. It was a functional pottery with many artists and friends popping in to try their hand with clay.

Over the next few years, the Happs planted a vineyard and commenced their wine-making journey which has been a great success for them. However, they have never lost sight of the importance of the pottery and the inspiration it brings.

The pottery is now run by manager Japneet Keith and is the host of a number of incredibly talented artists in residence. It is a lively, creative, rustic and joyful space; we hope you can visit one day. You can taste some wine, enjoy a picnic and chat with the potters while they create in front of you.

Until then, feel free to browse the stunning products on this site and treat yourself to the pleasure of a hand-made item.
